Some of my latest projects

Time has flown and I hadn't realized that my latest projects haven't been posted. These pictures were sitting in my camera all this time!

For our last Project Linus Q-Bee, I finished up a few fleece blankets to take along. Since these blankets are fairly large, they usually go to older kids. With that in mind, I tried choosing designs aimed at this age group.

The R-W-B sailboat is one that was done for the first time. Our chapter has been very supportive of organizations that reach out to the children of our fallen and wounded warriors, so I like to do blankets sometimes with those children in mind. The design is from Embroidery Library. The dog design is from Stitch It Cheap, the Girls Rule is from SewTerrific, and I am not sure where I got the I Heart Music.

I also embroidered a cookie from Stitch It Cheap when our young friend Bruce was here. He found some dish towels I had in stock and wanted me to embroider something for him on one. Since he likes making chocolate chip cookies, we thought that was appropriate. It was the first time embroidering on microfiber for me. It turned out pretty nice, I think.

That's all for now. When I take pictures of some other things I finished, I'll upload them. This old brain forgot to grab the camera after the napkins I embroidered were finished. UGH!

Finished quilt tops for Project Linus

I forgot to post pictures of the two quilt tops I finished recently for Project Linus. Since I will miss the next PL quilting bee, they will have to wait for the June bee.

The first one is just squares sewn together with a narrow border. The second one is called Toddler Picture Window from AZ Blankets 4 Kids.

I did two more fleece blankets for Project Linus before I went to our quilting bee last Saturday. Here are pictures of them. Both blankets were dark gray. I especially like the little soccer player with the slingshot. I pray they will be loved by a couple of young boys and that they comfort them in whatever trial they are going through.

2 blankets for Project Linus completed

I am finally feeling a bit better so I stitched two blankets for Project Linus. The purplish one I messed up a while ago and finally decided to do something with it. The colors don't show well, but in person it is kind of cute. The blue blanket is a purchased one that I embroidered that is soooo soft and comfy. I hope some young fisherman will love it. The design didn't stitch out well and I have no idea what happened to make the outline stitches go so far off on the right side. I guess if a person doesn't know what to look for, it won't be too noticeable.

I also got some fabric cut out for a little quilt top for PL. I hope I will remain feeling better so I can finish it up before too long. Pray that it is so.

Back to work!

After a summer of travel to northeast Brazil, Ohio, and Kentucky, I am back to work. My progress is a bit slow for now since I have gotten myself into a full fibro flare. OUCH! It seems that every joint and muscle in my body is screaming.

Christmas is fast approaching, gifts need to be finished, and other projects have been on hold for much too long. Judy, I know you have been wanting to see what I have been doing, so here it is!

As little gifts to give to my friends in Brazil, I made personalized Marie Osmond free-standing lace angels and bookmarks from Embroidery Library. I also squeezed in time to finish a blanket for Project Linus and an apron to give as a present.

I'll post more pictures later.

Blessings!
